Zaptec, a leading Norwegian manufacturer of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, partnered with EnGenius to ensure stable and efficient network connectivity across EV charging installations throughout Europe. The collaboration focuses on empowering professional installers with the tools, training, and technology needed to deploy robust Wi-Fi infrastructure in parking facilities and charging areas, enabling seamless operation of smart charging systems.
A significant portion of Zaptec’s customer support requests originated from unstable network connections. In most cases, these issues were not related to the chargers themselves but to unreliable or poorly configured Wi-Fi networks at installation sites. Because Zaptec had limited control over network environments managed by third parties, this led to an increased volume of support tickets and unnecessary troubleshooting for both customers and the support team.
EnGenius addressed these challenges with a complete, enterprise-grade Wi-Fi solution featuring indoor and outdoor access points, PoE switches, and SD-WAN gateways — all centrally managed through the EnGenius Cloud platform.
The system supports automatic provisioning and configuration via mobile apps, allowing installers with minimal IT experience to quickly set up reliable networks on-site without a computer.
To strengthen installer competence, Zaptec integrated an official EnGenius training module into its Zaptec Academy platform. This certification program equips electricians with the skills to install and configure EnGenius networking products optimized for EV charging infrastructure.

As of 2024, Zaptec projected its business to triple within four years, reflecting the rapid expansion of the European EV market. While the exact market potential for network infrastructure in this sector remains difficult to quantify, EnGenius views this partnership as a strategic, long-term opportunity to deliver scalable, installer-friendly connectivity solutions that support the growing demand for reliable EV charging systems across Europe.
