UOB is a prominent bank in Asia with a global network of around 500 offices in 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America. UOB had acquired Citigroup's consumer banking businesses in Malaysia and needed to upgrade its Wi-Fi network infrastructure.
UOB's IT team needed to deploy new Wi-Fi infrastructure for several locations, including the new UOB Plaza and the recently acquired Citibank branches. The network needed to be secure and isolated from public access, and device replacements needed to be done without any downtime.
EnGenius Cloud solution was deployed, which allowed device replacements to be carried out swiftly and remotely with the convenience of cloud-based network settings provisioning. The IT team could also access the network management via EnGenius Cloud-to-Go APP, which offered simple diagnostic tools and timely notifications and alerts if there were any network issues. The solution also included strategically deploying the AirGuard in ECW230S to ensure the Wi-Fi network was secure with WIPS/WIDS in place.
The deployment was completed without any downtime, and EnGenius Cloud solution proved to be cost-effective and scalable, enabling future expansion. The new Wi-Fi infrastructure included 43 ECW220, 2 ECS1528FP, and 9 ECS2512FP access points for Plaza UOB and 34 ECW230S and 6 ECS1112FP access points for the Citibank branches.
